The rigid Watch mount is the reference for bike motion. A compatible bike connection adds wheel and drivetrain telemetry; iPhone-only recording keeps a lightweight fallback available.

Mount Apple Watch firmly to the handlebar so its motion represents the bike rather than your wrist. Use the same orientation each ride and recalibrate after moving the mount.
